As some of you may know, when I’m not sitting at the front desk helping with all your enquiries in relation to your naturopathy and massage appointments, I am studying to become a lawyer. As part of my studies, I took a month away from the clinic and had the opportunity to study and travel overseas.
Learning about European management, I stayed for 2 weeks in Grenoble, a beautiful town in the foothills of the French Alps. In fact the flattest town in France, with the French Alps surrounding providing for stunning views in between streets and behind buildings when walking through town. I was able to participate in group visits to local companies, a ski day trip to Alpe d’Huez and of course indulging in some French cheese and wine. This was difficult to resist when daily farmers markets were held just outside my doorstep. It was such a great experience to see and be immersed in a different culture and understand how this has an impact on the way business is conducted.
I also travelled throughout Europe before my study, to Paris where we had a view of the Louvre from our apartment; Berlin that had visible remnants from World War II but has developed a trendy culture that made me feel like we were back in Melbourne; Budapest where the Christmas markets were centred around all the delicious traditional food; Vienna that was an incredibly charming city with its old buildings and regal flair. What was my favourite part? Seeing my grandparents in Romania who I hadn’t seen for 4 years and spending Christmas with my family. Unfortunately we didn’t get to have a white Christmas but it was a great experience to be over there during this time nevertheless.
After this amazing experience I returned back home to continue my studies. I have just completed semester 1 exams and have just over a year to go until I complete my degree and can become a lawyer. Helping people is my passion and that is why I love working at Feeling Healthy, being that helpful smile to support people in achieving their health goals. I’m excited to be able to continue helping people (although in a slightly different way) once I complete my degree.
